The Houston Tejano Music Coalition is looking for instructors, musicians and instruments to help students in need of them.

HTMC 330.JPGAccording to Eden Barrera Jr of the Houston Tejano Music Coalition, the organization is reaching out to the community for help.

According to Eden:

"The Houston Tejano Music Coalition is asking for help in one of our most precious projects.
We are working with a youth outreach center in Pasadena, Texas in providing an after school program that will have 7th or 8th grade students form a Tejano Band. They will also learn the history of our beautiful music.
What we need..................
Any and all Musicians in the Houston, Pasadena area who are willing to Musical Instruct these young musicians.
-We are looking at 1 1/2 hours 2-3 days a week
-Its a after school program that will run till May 2009
-Instructors are paid 25/hr
-Kids are 7th-8th graders
-Number of Band members min. 7 up to 14 depending on number of Instructors we get.

If you have contacts or ideas please call me asap as this program will begin Oct. 20th
Together lets make this happen and it would be a pilot for future programs, there are several schools highly interested in implementing this.
