Tracy Lawrence: illness forces SA cancellation
Country recording artist Tracy Lawrence has been forced to cancel his scheduled San Antonio show at the Cowboys Dancehall Friday night. Officials said Lawrence had to postpone that appearance when
he was hospitalized for a respiratory infection Tuesday in Nashville.
Lawrence also canceled his scheduled Saturday show at Riverwind Casino in Norman, OK. He remained hospitalized Thursday where doctors have diagnosed him with early signs of pneumonia.
No rescheduled dates had been set for the canceled shows.
Lawrence had been scheduled to receive a proclamation from Mayor Julián Castro making him an honorary citizen of San Antonio.
"The outpouring of well wishes from friends, family and fans has been overwhelming,” Lawrence said in a news release. "I am taking the time to get healthy, and with your prayers and support, I’m confident that I’ll be back on the road to recovery in the coming days. Thanks to all of you!”
Lawrence released his first inspirational CD this year, “The Rock,” which debuted in the Top 5 Christian charts and in the Top 20 country charts.
