What!?!? Fiesta King arrested for impersonating a cop?
Yeah, this is one of those stories that makes you do a double take. And a triple take.
According to several news stories, Charles Garza, a member of Fiesta royalty, was arrested after he reportedly used a honorary deputy constable badge to pull over a driver on November 13.
What?
There's more.
According to WOAI.com, "police received a call around 11 a.m. from a woman who said that a man in a Cadillac Escalade had tried to stop her after she passed him on Loop 1604. The woman told police the man had pulled up beside her, flashed a badge, and signaled her to pull over. She told police she did not feel safe and refused to comply. She said the man then sped up, got in front of her, and "slammed" on his brakes. Police said instead of trying to pass his vehicle again, she slowed and called 9-1-1."
Eventually the police arrived and tracked down the Escalade in question. After initial denials, Garza admitted the incident. Garza was arrested on allegedly impersonating a police officer charges. He was later released on his own recognizance.
